Job description
We are strengthening our IT Operations. The goal is simple: secure, reliable infrastructure that keeps our office and cloud services running without drama. You will take ownership of our network and firewall setup, and you will run and improve our Azure services, including AKS where relevant. This is a hands on operations role. You build, you maintain, you document, you improve.
## What you’ll do
Own day-to-day network operations (switches, routers, VPN, segmentation where needed)
Administer and harden firewall systems, including rule sets, reviews, and change discipline
Operate and improve Azure services, including governance basics (identity, access, policies, cost visibility)
Run and evolve AKS operations (availability, upgrades, monitoring, security baselines)
Keep office IT stable (PCs, printers, peripherals, standard setups, troubleshooting)
Plan and execute infrastructure changes and rollouts with clear documentation and low risk
Improve operational hygiene: patching, backups, access reviews, asset tracking, and runbooks
### What you bring
5 to 10 years of hands on experience in IT infrastructure and operations
Strong practical background in network administration and firewall management
Solid experience with Azure, and real operational exposure to AKS (not just “touched it”)
Comfort with office hardware and user facing IT operations when needed
A clean working style: documentation, ticket discipline, clear handovers
A service mindset without people pleasing. You protect uptime and security first.
You can work independently and you can collaborate without noise
## Nice-to-have
Experience with infrastructure as code and automation (Terraform, Bicep, PowerShell)
Experience with monitoring and logging setups in cloud and Kubernetes environments
Familiarity with security frameworks and practical hardening approaches
## What we offer
A role with real ownership in a growing IT Ops team
Hybrid work options and flexible working hours
Competitive salary and benefits
An international work environment with a down-to-earth, maritime-minded culture.
Strong learning and development opportunities, with room to grow your craft.
30 days of annual leave.
A 39-hour work week in a flexitime account with genuinely flexible working hours.
A Germany Ticket (Deutschlandticket) to support your commute.
