Data Engineer

**Key Responsibilities:** - Work as a Data Engineer with strong statistical and data science expertise within Six Sigma task forces to address complex manufacturing and operational challenges using digitally enhanced Six Sigma methodologies - Support the Six Sigma Black Belt task force lead with advanced analytics, data preparation, and insight generation - Identify, access, and connect to relevant enterprise and operational data sources, primarily within the SAP and Microsoft ecosystem (e.g. SAP, SharePoint, file shares, SQL databases) - Gather, clean, transform, and structure data from diverse sources into analysis-ready datasets - Apply multivariate data analysis techniques and create interactive, insight-driven visualizations for expert and management audiences - Leverage Microsoft Azure AI services to digitize documents, automate data processing, and develop machine learning models for operational use cases - Strong hands-on skills in Python, including the effective use of AI-assisted coding tools and agents to accelerate development and analysis - Optional experience with Dataiku or similar analytics platforms is considered a plus **Your Profile:** - High resilience and adaptability, with the ability to perform effectively in **fast-paced, high-impact task force environments**, particularly during critical project phases - Strong intrinsic motivation to support operating companies in **challenging business situations** and enthusiasm for solving complex, data-intensive problems - University degree in software, **engineering, data science, natural sciences**, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience - Solid foundation in **statistics, data analysis, and data engineering concepts**, applied in real-world industrial or business contexts - Strong communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with Six Sigma experts, engineers, operations, and management - Fluent in **English; German language skills are a plus** - Comfortable working in a **multicultural, international environment** - Willingness to travel internationally and spend extended periods at **Heraeus manufacturing sites worldwide** **What we offer:** **Strong salary package** - attractive base salary plus bonus and support for private pension plan **Modern working time arrangements **- time sovereignty without time recording, focus on results-oriented work  **Regular time off** - 30 days annual leave plus up to 6 additional days off (company closures on bridge days and between years), special leave for special occasions, life phase account for paid time off (e.g. sabbatical, earlier retirement) **Additional benefits** - subsidized public transport, discounts in many (online) stores, company medical service with comprehensive preventive medical check-ups, sports facilities and employee canteen with freshly prepared meals every day **Sustainability and social commitment **- sustainability as part of the corporate strategy and targeted support for initiatives in the areas of education, family and science through our own foundations
