Job description

We are seeking an experienced **Network Engineer** to join our **Professional Service Development** team. In this role, you will leverage your experience in enterprise networking, network security, WiFi/802.11 infrastructures and virtualization to design and develop Philips Professional Services that that complement the Philips **Patient Monitoring** solutions. You will work in an **agile environment**, collaborating closely with **Product Managers**, **Product Owners, Service Architects **and other** engineering functions **to ensure networking requirements from Philips network specification documents, such as VLAN design, routing, WiFi infrastructure behavior, security policies, and multicast are accurately reflected in service concepts and deployment models. **We seek an engineer with broader capabilities who can:** - Understand healthcare network architectures and Philips networking standards - Communicate clearly within cross‑functional teams - Propose best‑practice improvements - Support test‑lab environments and infrastructure validation - Apply Philips network guidelines (VLANs, routing, STP/RSTP, WiFi design, Multicast/IGMP, DHCP/DNS, QoS) into service design **Your role** - Provide networking expertise for the design and development of new **Professional Services**. - Ensure compliance with **Philips network standards**: Layer 2/3 design, VLANs, STP/RSTP, routing protocols, security filtering (ACLs/firewalls), QoS, Multicast routing (PIM), IGMP Snooping, DHCP/DNS architecture, and WiFi requirements. - Apply 802.11 deployment principles (coverage, roaming, RSSI/SNR thresholds, channel planning, transmit‑power alignment) in service‑related designs. - Set up and maintain the **Professional Services test lab**, including virtual infrastructure, network topologies, VLANs, routing, WiFi components, and security controls. - Support integration of Philips products into customer networks, ensuring correctness of segmentation, redundancy, WiFi behavior, Multicast operation, and cloud connectivity. - Validate service concepts through lab testing, performance measurements, troubleshooting, and interoperability checks. - Collaborate with Product Owners and Service Architects to ensure network requirements are considered early in feature and service definition. - Act as a central contact for the Philips network engineer community for network services and product network design questions - Provide technical guidance and best practices for **Healthcare IT infrastructure**, including **network** and **cloud security** and **network resilience**. **You’re the right fit if** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. - 5+ years of experience in enterprise networking or infrastructure engineering. - Fluent in English; proficiency in other languages is highly valued. - Proven experience in **network engineering**, **network security**, and **cloud computing** (AWS, Azure, GCP, or similar). - Strong understanding of: - Layer 2/3 networking, VLANs, STP/RSTP, routing protocols - Multicast (IGMP v2/v3, PIM) and its relevance to clinical monitoring systems - WiFi/802.11 network design (RSSI/SNR thresholds, roaming behavior, channel planning, DFS considerations, QoS/WMM) - DHCP/DNS design, IP addressing, NAT limitations, segmentation, and security controls - Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems. - Experience with virtualization platforms and containers (VMWare, Nutanix, Hyper-V, Docker). - Familiarity with **Philips Patient Monitoring solutions** and their network/security requirements. - Understanding of **agile development methodologies**. - Knowledge of **AI concepts** - 5+ years of experience in solution and service delivery.
