Job description

**Your Role and Responsibilities** As a Data Engineer, you play a central role in designing, developing, and operating data pipelines and integrations that support our analytics, reporting, and data-driven applications. Your focus is on reliable data ingestion, ETL-based data integration, and ensuring high-quality data flows across our entire data platform. Join our multinational team of around 300 employees from more than 33 different nationalities across Europe. Diversity is our strength! We look forward to welcoming highly motivated new team members to our IT department, which currently consists of 22 closely collaborating individuals. Your responsibilities include: - Data Engineering: You design, develop, and operate scalable, robust, and secure data pipelines, ensuring high-quality data flows and operational stability across the entire platform. - Data Integration: You develop, manage, and optimize ETL/ELT processes for batch jobs and API-based data integrations using our ETL platform (e.g., Talend). You also implement reusable components, connectors, and integration patterns. - Data Source Analysis & Integration: You identify, evaluate, and onboard relevant internal and external data sources for analytics and integration use cases. This includes assessing data quality, data models, access options, SLAs, and overall integrability. - Data Governance & Continuous Improvement: You ensure compliance with data governance policies, platform standards, and security requirements, and proactively identify opportunities for automation and continuous improvement. - Collaboration & Engineering Practices: You work closely with cross-functional teams in an agile environment and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git/Bitbucket), code reviews, and documentation best practices. **Your Profile** - You have 3–5 years of professional experience in data engineering and have worked with ETL platforms (preferably Talend) for batch and API integrations. - You have a strong understanding of data ingestion patterns, schema evolution, data quality principles, and data modeling. - You have excellent SQL skills and a solid understanding of relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Redshift, or Oracle). - You have foundational knowledge of Java and an understanding of basic software development concepts. - You demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving thinking, the ability to work well in a team, and a structured, proactive approach to your work. Diversity is an important part of our global corporate culture. We therefore particularly welcome applications from people with severe disabilities, who will be given preference when qualifications are equal. **Why should you choose us?** Hybrid Work: We offer flexible working between a digital workplace and a modern office centrally located in Frankfurt (3 days remote / 2 days in office). Training & Development: We give our employees the opportunity to grow through training programs. In addition, we offer an e-learning platform with around-the-clock access to modules covering a wide range of topics. Job Ticket / JobRad: We provide you with a public transport job ticket. We also get our employees on their bikes — choose a JobRad and start riding. Health & Wellness: Your health matters to us. You benefit from our preventive health check-ups as well as our health week featuring various workshops. Fitness Studio: We offer you the opportunity to stay fit in our on-site gym, whether before work, during your lunch break, or after hours. Childcare: We support you in securing a spot at the kindergarten in the St. Martin Tower (subject to availability). Additional Benefits: We want our employees to feel good. We therefore also offer further benefits such as employee events, corporate discounts, and the restaurant in the St. Martin Tower.
