About us: An established IT-adjacent environment with a strong focus on secure digital specialist applications is looking for an experienced Security Engineer (m/f/d) at the earliest possible opportunity. In this role, you will actively contribute to securing modern applications and IT services, working closely with infrastructure, operations, and development teams.
Your responsibilities: You will be responsible for defining and further developing security measures at the application level and regularly assessing vulnerabilities through vulnerability assessments. You will guide security policies from creation through to operational enforcement.
You will develop incident response concepts, continuously monitor security events, and respond to security incidents in a structured manner when they occur — including analysis, containment, remediation, and recovery.
In addition, you will analyze threat landscapes and derive preventive measures, produce management reports on risks and incidents, and support the optimization and expansion of existing security tooling, such as vulnerability and CVE scanning environments.
Your profile: You have a solid technical background in IT security, with particular knowledge of network protocols, firewalls, and cryptography. You bring experience in incident and vulnerability management as well as working with SIEM, SOC, and threat detection tools.
You are able to present complex analytical findings in a clear and accessible way, and to derive pragmatic, actionable measures from them. You are equally confident communicating with systems engineers, network specialists, developers, and non-technical stakeholders.
Knowledge of application development or programming — for example in C# or Angular — is an advantage but not a requirement. A strong security mindset along with a solution- and results-oriented approach are expected. Relevant certifications in the security field are welcome but not required.
What our client offers you: You will receive a permanent employment contract with attractive compensation and flexible working hours. Remote work is a permanent part of the working model.
In addition, you can look forward to 30 days of annual leave, a modern working environment with short decision-making chains, supported training and development opportunities, and various additional benefits such as company pension scheme, mobility offerings, and further social benefits.
